Esther Holzman (pictured opposite), President of the prestigious house of Holzman & Stephanie, has a background as exotic as any of her company's exclusive products. She spent her youthful summers in Grasse, France, the perfume capital of the world, at the enchantingly beautiful home of her aunt, the Baroness Emmy de Hirzel. Another of her aunts, the Countess Evelyn de Prograny, inspired her to study organic chemistry and to enter the perfume business.
Together with her widely-travelled daughter, Stephanie, educated in America and with a Masters Degree in Science, she established her own perfume house some 15 years ago. Two of her most famous creations, 'Misuki' and 'Je T'aime' are dedicated to her titled and inspirational aunts.
The Holzman & Stephanie Fragrance Collection is created exclusively for the company by internationally renowned perfumers in France and America. Together they have created a range of top quality, classical perfumes at reasonable prices. The family's country home is in the exclusive village of Lake Forest, Virginia, providing the perfume house with its alternative name, Lake Forest Perfumes.
Nothing is allowed to detract from the company's exquisite products. The packaging is handmade by artisans exclusively for the House of Holzman & Stephanie. The paper was designed in the Orient and reflects an old-world sophistication and elegance, and the Eau de Parfume bottles are hand-etched.
Esther Holzman knows the fragrance oil industry from the inside and demands that only 'Natural Essences' are used in her exclusive products. "As a chemist, I know that at no time will you get this kind of response from synthetic compounds. They simply do not hold their scent, but change their composition and are harsh and irritating.
