Suitable For:
The advantages of this treatment are varied, from those looking for a guaranteed inch loss, to reducing cellulite and obtaining a more toned appearance. It's also a great way to detox and help suffers of psoriasis, eczema and dry skin. All of these great benefits make it a popular choice at key times of the year such as pre-holiday, the Christmas party season and to kick-start a healthy New Year regime.
What's It All About:
This treatment is not for the easily embarrassed. In order to prove the guaranteed inch loss you need to be measured at various points all over your body. This is then followed by a feet to shoulder wrap that leaves little to the imagination but certainly does the job. It basically works by using a unique sea-clay solution that assists the elimination of toxins from the body that build up due to poor diet, stress, smoking and alcohol. It also improves the elasticity of the skin, hence its toning effect.
The Treatment:
After filling in a health questionnaire I was then measured at different points including around my ankle, calf, thigh, waist, and bust and in three places along my arm. These points are all measured to within an eighth of an inch and noted down on a record card. The exact points are marked on the body so that they can be re-measured and compared after the treatment.
Next, bandages soaked in the warmed sea-clay solution are wrapped snugly around the body to form a mummy-like suit from feet to shoulders. Classic problem areas such as hips, thighs and buttocks are particularly well wrapped in several layers for maximum effect where you need it most. As if all that wasn't glamorous enough you are then asked to don a vinyl suit and boots to prevent you from getting cold as the bandages lose their heat. Once you're all dressed up you can either sit around for an hour whilst the sea-clay takes effect, or you can opt to use an exercise bike or toning table to pass the time.
After an hour is up you are then unwrapped and re-measured. There's no need to shower after the treatment as your skin is left looking clean and the sea-clay continues to work even after the bandages are removed. Whilst you're getting dressed your therapist can total up the measurement differences to give you your inch loss total - the real highlight of the treatment!
Aftercare Programme:
To increase the beneficial effects of the sea-clay solution you are advised to shower using only warm water, avoiding soap and body lotions for the next day or two. You'll also be advised during this time to drink lots of water to help with the release of toxins and to reduce your intake of tea and coffee, salt, sugar, fatty foods and also cigarettes and alcohol. It's important to note that you may experience headaches as part of the detox process, so take it easy.
The Verdict:
All customers are guaranteed to lose at least six inches by having this treatment or there will be no charge, showing just how confident the company are in this tried and trusted treatment. What's more, the inch loss is guaranteed to last for 30 days after the treatment.
I lost a total of 6 ½ inches but it's not unusual to lose around 12 or 15 inches during just one treatment. I also noticed that two days after the treatment my skin felt much smoother and firmer, especially around the thigh area which is a great confidence booster.
Home Care:
There's an excellent home care kit called the Sea Clay Personal Contour Wrap Kit, available by calling 01784 251177, priced at £62.50.
